This is not a noise canceling headset. It ADDs white noise. This is not the way to cancel noise. I tested under several cases including a plane. The white noise increases as the outside noise increases. In all tests, the unit sounded better turned off!...

I think the pair I purchased might have been defective from the start - unfortunately I purchased them somewhere else and cannot return them. Live and learn I guess.

perhaps i got a bad pair, but for xx bucks what do you expect? don't waste your time on these.

It's not to bad if you fly a lot because it does have a 2-prong airplane adapter for those in-flight movies if you watch them.
